Description

I set everything to use TFTP smart proxy provisioning. I followed guides and documentation I found. I already made it happen 1 year ago so I knew it was possible.
The "interface" tab in a new host definition is new since my last try.
About the 3 checkboxes in this interface tab I only checked the last two ones.
I had no success.
Finaly I checked the first one, "managed" and tftp works now. By "work" I mean forman starts to download netboot images from the repo I defined in Installation media.

I open this issue because this first checkbox "managed" explicitely talk about DHCP and DNS... and in my situation I do not use them.

Sorry if I am wrong!

And really thanks for this amazing job you do with Foreman ! My use of it is massive Linux Desktops deployement on bare-metal.

  • Tracker changed from Feature to Bug
  • Project changed from Smart Proxy to Foreman
  • Category set to Web Interface

we should improve the inline help message there, manage flag basically means "run orchestration on this interface" where orchestration can be anything from create DHCP, create DNS, create TFTP, etc

if anyone suggests a better sentence I'll be happy to fix it
