Foreman celebrated its 6 year anniversary

The first commit was on July 13, 2009. To celebrate, we got some new T-shirts.

Foreman 1.9 RC3 is out, 1.9.0 and 1.8.3 expected soon

Several blocker bugs found in the 2 previous release candidates have delayed the release of 1.9.0, which is expected to be out around August 17th. Read the announcement or the release notes for more details.
Foreman 1.8.3, a bug fix release, will also be released at approximately the same time.
We appreciate your help testing the release candidates and reporting bugs!

Katello 2.3 RC2 is ready for testing

Katello 2.3 is planned to be released in alignment with Foreman 1.9. Check out the announcement, or the release notes for a full list of updates.
Please help us with testing this RC so the final release will be as stable as possible!

Hammer 0.3 released

This release adds a notification for deprecated options and several bug fixes, and is compatible with Foreman 1.9.

  • This month’s community demo was held Thursday, August 6th.

  • Daniel gave a talk about Foreman at PuppetNYC.

  • Shlomi blogged about running OpenLDAP in a container for testing foreman LDAP functionality.

  • Arnold Bechtoldt wrote a blog post about using Foreman to deploy Windows Server on vSphere.

Upcoming events

  • Julius Bloch will be giving a lecture about Foreman at FrOSCon (in German) on August 23rd.

  • Devops Days Tel Aviv will be at October 7-8, call for papers is open until September 1st.

  • The dates for FOSDEM and Config Management Camp have been announced, block your calendars January 30 - February 2 , 2016 and look out for Foreman-related talks and workshops.
